About the product
Our gemstone lapel pins are handmade in our UK studio. Lapel pins can also be worn as tie pins, or used to secure cravats or scarves. Designed to compliment our cufflink collections, the Cairn lapel pin features a round cabochon cut stone set into a classic sterling silver bezel setting. The round face of the lapel pin measures 10mm diameter
Labradorite (named after the Canadian region, not the dog) is a form of feldspar originally discovered in Labrador, Canada. Labradorite can be an iridescent stone; the myriad of crystal planes in the rock cause light to be refracted giving the it beautiful angular monochrome tones with occasional flashes of turquoise blue or yellow depending on the stone.
Lapel Pins are shipped in a jewellery box, with an elegant gift envelope and gift card enclosed.
About Product Care
When wearing a lapel or tie pin, it is recommended that an open weave or heavily patterned tie be worn. It is not recommended with a plain or closely woven silk tie. Never force the pin through fabrics; it should be able to go through easily.
It is not uncommon for a small pinhole to be left in the fabric after a tie pin is removed. When removing the pin, care must always be taken to avoid snagging the fibres of the fabric as the point of the pin is withdrawn. To help remove any remaining hole in the fabric steam may be used (but do not iron the tie) or a gentle movement side to side of the fabric to close over the hole.
